Esophageal Fistula Sealer

The Fistop is a sealer for esophageal fistulas. A soft, pre-folded silicone umbrella is inserted and unfurled to create a semi permanent seal that is comfortable for the patient. By using the introducer, one is able to quickly deploy and seal the silicone umbrella without any need for surgery. My involvement from the start of the project was to brainstorm various methods of sealing, and prototype these solutions. With the help of clinicians, the designs were tested on cadavers and refined until they worked effectively.
